My Boss Just Asked about Google Drive

http://www.droid-life.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/Google-Drive.pngI became overwhelmed with joy when my boss asked me if we should use Google drive. My head exploded with the thought that "my life was about to get so much easier."   I almost could not stop myself from screaming "YES!" however, I calmed down and said "I believe using Google drive would be a great decision as it can save you and the department a lot of time and headache." Later I explained why. I told her that it was compatible with Microsoft Office. This means that we can start files on here and finish with Microsoft Office and vice versa. Also, the sharing capabilities are out of this world. Once everyone in the department gets a Google account we can give permissions to specific people for specific documents. This is a whole lot easier than saving a file and attaching it in an email just so they can see the changes you made. With Google drive your employees can see the changes you make as you make them and they can edit the changes at the same time. No more hour long meetings with your employees aimlessly staring at a computer screen while you reach over her to make edits. Now you can edit documents remotely, or while you are in another meeting. This is truly groundbreaking technology. She said, " I can see how excited you are about it. I will see how we can integrate this technology as a department."

Blogs in Business

Blogs can be a great thing or a horrible thing for businesses. The best way to learn about a business is through word of mouth. Bloggers have the ability to reach consumers everywhere through their blogs. For example if a popular blogger such as Perez Hilton endorses a business, people who read his blogs will have a positive attitude about the company. However, if he complains about a company, people will view that company negatively. Moreover, businesses can write blogs in order to give consumers a more personal idea about the company. Reading a blog can help make consumers feel a since of importance as they learn the ins and outs about the company through a blog.

Wireless Network Precautions

When maintaining a wireless network, there is a lot that you have to think about. If you have a wireless network, you have to know that it is generally open to everyone that is in that wireless area. When someone uses wi-fi, they still have access to the same websites and programs as anyone else. They can be doing things such as illegally downloading music, or credit card fraud. The police can monitor this activity, and it will be traced back to you.

There is a way for you to avoid this, and it is very simple. All you have to do is be sure to lock your wireless network. When you lock your wireless network with a strong password, no unwanted strangers will be able to use your network without your permission. Doing this will protect you and your loved ones from criminals.

Strong Passwords

When creating passwords, some people don’t really think about creating a strong password. Some people even use the same password for everything. This is the wrong thing to do. It can be really dangerous if someone happens to crack one of your passwords, so it is very important to make a very strong one.

A strong password should consist of 14 or more characters. It should also include a mixture of words and numbers. You have to make sure that you don’t use the same password twice. For example, do not use the password that you use for your online banking account for your Facebook account as well. Aside from making a strong password, it has to be something you remember. Of course people use things like birthdates or telephone numbers because they are easy to remember; however, they do not make very strong passwords. Always try to think of something meaningful to you and try to make a password out of that.

Internet Filters

Internet filters are used as a form of censorship on the web. They are used to control what content is viewed by the visitors of the web site. It can be used to limit certain material from being posted on the site. For example, a forum director may use Internet filters to block people from using inappropriate language and words on the forum.

There are four types of filters that all work in different ways. These four types of filters include Search Engine Filters, Client Side Filters, Server Side Filters, and Content limited filters. All of these filters help keep the Internet a safe place for children, or certain groups of people. They also help keep people from spamming our e-mail addresses.
