Internet Filters

Internet filters are used as a form of censorship on the web. They are used to control what content is viewed by the visitors of the web site. It can be used to limit certain material from being posted on the site. For example, a forum director may use Internet filters to block people from using inappropriate language and words on the forum.

There are four types of filters that all work in different ways. These four types of filters include Search Engine Filters, Client Side Filters, Server Side Filters, and Content limited filters. All of these filters help keep the Internet a safe place for children, or certain groups of people. They also help keep people from spamming our e-mail addresses. They are a very accommodating aspect of the Internet.
